OF RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, the mission of the Glendale Police Department is to protect the lives and property
of the people we serve; and
WHEREAS, Destiny- Rene Ebersohl is a sworn Officer with the city of Glendale for over four
years; and
WHEREAS, on the evening of May 20th, Officer Ebersohl was one of the first on scene to
render aid to innocent victims of a senseless act of evil; and
WHEREAS, Officer Ebersohl’s outstanding training ensured she was able to quickly install
order at the scene by providing guidance to employees in surrounding businesses and innocent
bystanders, all while applying lifesaving first aid to the two most critically injured gunshot
victims with chest seals and tourniquet; and
WHEREAS, Officer Ebersohl embodies the core values of the Glendale Police Department,
displaying Integrity, Courage, Excellence, Dedication and Compassion; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jerry P. Weiers, Mayor of the city of Glendale, Arizona, on behalf of
the City Council, do hereby recognize
Officer Destiny-Rene Ebersohl
for her bravery and quick thinking in an unthinkable situation and for her commitment to the
safety of everyone on scene.
