CITY OF GLENDALE
WHEREAS, the mission of Rotary International is to bring together leaders to exchange
ideas and take action to help empower youth, enhance health, promote peace, and
eradicate polio;
WHEREAS, the Glendale Rotary Club has contributed to the wellbeing of hundreds of
local charities, local youth and regularly gathers neighbors, business people and
community leaders together for the benefit of the citizens of Glendale; and
WHEREAS, Glendale Rotary Club holds an annual Chili Cook-off to bring together chili
lovers from the far ends of the city for this party-with-a-purpose; and
WHEREAS, Glendale Rotary Club promises participants a rootin’ tootin’ time where
they can cook and compete, or just come to eat; and
WHEREAS, you’re gonna need a bigger bowl;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Jerry P. Weiers, Mayor of the City of Glendale, Arizona, on behalf
of the City Council do hereby proclaim February 24, 2018 as:
GLENDALE ROTARY CHILI DAY
and hereby invite residents and visitors alike to enjoy a flaming hot time and may the best
chili win, because the true winners are the citizens of Glendale.
