Proclamations, Opinions, Awards - Historical - 3/23/2018
CITY OF GLENDALE
WHEREAS, the Saint Joseph Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will conduct
their 15th Annual Awards Dinner honoring the cities of Glendale and Peoria and the Luke
Air Force Base Police and Fire Departments on April 21, 2018 at St. Helen’s Catholic
Church in Glendale, Arizona; and
WHEREAS, our law enforcement officers are the guardians of life and property, defenders
of the individual right to be free, warriors in the battle against crime, and are dedicated to
the preservation of life and property; and
WHEREAS, our firefighters respond to fire alarms, disasters, and emergency medical
calls to protect life and property and conduct necessary inspections of residential and
commercial structures for fire prevention and pre-fire planning purposes;
WHEREAS, the public safety professionals from Luke Air Force Base further protect us
through their service as members of our United States military.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jerry P. Weiers, Mayor of the City of Glendale, Arizona, on
behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim April 21, 2018 as
PUBLIC SAFETY APPRECIATION DAY
and urge all citizens to give proper recognition to our public safety men and women for
their dedicated service to our community.
