CITY OF GLENDALE
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale will host Arizona’s first ACE Comic Con event on
January 13, 14 and 15th and live “Captain America’s Dream,” making other cities
“Hulk” green with envy; and
WHEREAS, Stan Lee is the “Marvelous” creator of some of the world’s most famous
heroes and infamous villains and is considered the Iron Man of comics; and
WHEREAS, Glendale has hosted the “Fantastic Four” of basketball and now is
successfully spinning Spider Man’s web with this immersive experience for fans; and
WHEREAS, Stan Lee’s creations have entertained and inspired generations and “Let me
tell you something, brother,” even Hulk Hogan will join; and
WHEREAS, Gila River Arena in Glendale will become a beacon of pop culture and
bring thousands of fans dressed in their most creative costumes;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Jerry P. Weiers, Mayor of the City of Glendale, Arizona, on behalf
of the City Council do hereby proclaim January 13-15th, 2018 as:
ACE COMIC CON WEEKEND
and hereby welcome ACE Universe, members of the media, and encourage everyone in
Glendale and across the Valley of the Sun to enjoy this fantastic event that we hope is the
first of many to come.
