CITY OF GLENDALE
WHEREAS, the citizens of Arizona stand firmly committed to promoting quality
education to ensure our students' future academic success, their preparation for
America's jobs of the future, and their ability to compete in a global economy; and
WHEREAS, Jana Jackson For KIDS Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit
charitable organization that provides innovative programs custom designed for
kids, which merge the educational interests of philanthropists, professional sports
organizations, youth groups, corporate sponsors, community service
organizations, and local school districts; and
WHEREAS, the Jana Jackson For KIDS Foundation has implemented a
mentoring initiative as part of its summer education program; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the organization is to bridge the gap between kids’
current understanding of work ethics, and what is needed in the real world.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jerry P. Weiers, Mayor of the City of Glendale, Arizona,
on behalf of the City Council do hereby proclaim June 26, 2019 as:
MENTORING INITIATIVE DAY
in the City of Glendale and we urge all citizens to engage with our youth as a
mentor to bridge the generation gap to ensure our core values and work ethics are
preserved.
