CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Weiers called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

RESOLUTIONS
1. RESOLUTION NO.23-87
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY,
ARIZONA, DECLARING THE OFFICIAL CANVASS OF VOTES CAST IN THE CITY OF
GLENDALE ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 7, 2023; DECLARING THE RESULTS OF TWO
BOND QUESTIONS; AND ORDERING THAT A CERTIFIED COPY OF THE RESOLUTION
BE RECORDED.
Presented by: Julie K. Bower, City Clerk
Ms. Bower read the resolution by title. She said the proposed resolution would declare and
adopt the results of the November 7, 2023 Special Election.
A motion was made by Vice Mayor Joyce Clark, seconded by Councilmember Ian Hugh to
adopt Resolution No. R23-87.
Councilmember Aldama recognized the number of residents who voted against the bonds
because of a lack of trust. He said the City had a lot of work to do.
Councilmember Turner thanked the Bond Committee for its work on the issue. He was
dismayed that Council did not put forward parks and recreations bonds. The City was
virtually without authorization. The stated reason for not doing so was that the bonds did
not poll well. He wondered what would happen if they did not poll well in the next few
years. He believed park bonds would pass and they should be put out as soon as possible.
The vote on the motion was:

Mayor Weiers adjourned the meeting at 10:05 a.m.
