R23-01 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE ENTERING INTO OF AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE HIGHWAY SAFETY CONTRACT (C22-1001) WITH THE ARIZONA GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY (AZGOHS) AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE AND EXPENDITURE OF ADDITIONAL GRANT FUNDING IN THE APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF $73,409 FOR CAPITAL OUTLAY FOR THE GLENDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION PROJECT. ORDINANCE NO. 023-01 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, AMENDING THE GLENDALE CITY CODE, CHAPTER 25 (NUISANCES), BY ADDING ARTICLE X (NUISANCE PARTIES AND UNLAWFUL GATHERINGS). Presented by: Brent Stoddard, Deputy City Manager Ms. Bower read the ordinance by title. Mr. Stoddard said Council adopted the ordinance on May 10, 2022, but notice of the fees and fines had not been posted prior to adoption as required by State law and the ordinance could not be codified. The fines and fees had been posted for the required time period and the ordinance could now be codified and enforced. COUNCIL SELECTION OF VICE MAYOR Presented by: Brent Stoddard, Deputy City Manager Ms. Bower read the item by title. Mr. Stoddard said the Charter and Council Guidelines required Council to designate a Vice Mayor from among its members at its first meeting in January for a 1-year term. A motion was made by Vice Mayor Jamie Aldama, seconded by Councilmember Bart Turner to select Councilmember Clark as Vice Mayor.
