PURPOSE Provides guidelines for rental and use of the Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic Area (SRPHA). II. PROCEDURES Please refer to the SRPHA Operations manual for more information. A. City Ordinances All users agree to comply with all federal, state, and municipal laws, rules, ordinances, regulations, and orders with respect to the use and occupancy of the SRPHA. Listed below are excerpts from specific city ordinances occasionally referenced when book ing the SRPHA. In addition, every user will complete a SPRHA Rental Agreement or a Facilities Use Agreement. 1. Animal Drawn Carriages - No person shall be issued a license to operate an animal -drawn carriage until such person has filed with the city's risk management division an approved certificate of insurance certifying that the applicant carries public liability and property damage insurance, issued by an insurance carrier acceptable to the city, insuring the applicant against claims arising out of the operation of the animal-drawn carriage. 2. Camping - It shall be unlawful for any person to camp upon any public or private land, whether or not such camping takes place in a motor vehicle. A violation of this paragraph shall constitute a class 1 misdemeanor. Camping may be authorized by permit with permission of the city manager or his designee. As a condition of such a permit, the Director may require the hiring of security personnel at the renter’s own cost. B. Facilities 1. Fruit Packing Shed - The Fruit Packing Shed will accommodate up to 300 people for art shows and exhibits. The building has two main rooms plus a small prep kitchen equipped with a refrigerator and sink, but no range or oven. One restroom is available inside the building. The large meeting room is 1500 sq. ft. The smaller meeting room measures 732 sq. ft. Rental Uses: wedding receptions, retreats, meetings, parties, reunions, and acoustical concerts. 2. The Barnyard - The Barnyard area includes the hay barn, corrals, mill & granary, dairy barn, and maintenance shed. This area works well for a variety of activities catering to agricultural themed events. The mill and granary contain a covered area that measures 28 ft. x 15 ft. as well as a small “classroom.” The dairy barn measures 43 ft. x 15 ft. Two corrals adjacent to the barnyard measure 40 ft. x 21 ft. & 60 x 43 ft. Three other adjoining corrals in the barnyard measure 42 ft. x 43 ft, 21 ft. x 26 ft., 38 ft. x 27 ft. The Page 2 of 2 haybarn and maintenance shed provide large shade structures (haybarn measures 95 ft. x 35 ft., maintenance shed measures 49 ft. x 28 ft.) for events. 3. Demonstration Area - This is a fence enclosed multi-purpose special events area that can be isolated with restricted access for a variety of events ranging from tractor shows/pulls, equestrian events, and car shows. The demonstration area measures 333 ft. x 75 ft. (approx. ½ acre). This area can also be expanded to accommodate additional seating in an area 333 ft. x 33 ft. (approx. 1/3 acre). 4. The Front Lawns - The North Lawn has approx. useable space that measures 160 ft. x 100 ft. (approx. .4 acres). The South Lawn measures 220 ft. x 190 ft. (1 acre) and can be used for outdoor wedding receptions, performing arts programs and concerts company picnics, and small festivals, fairs, or art shows. C. Fees & Charges All fees for the use of SRPHA amenities are located on the SRPHA web page and for viewing at the SRPHA and all Parks and Recreation customer service centers. Arrangements for catering, special decorations and tent rentals are not included in the rental fee and are the responsibility of the renter. Weekend rates are in effect 4:00 p.m. Friday and end at midnight Sunday.
