1. CALL TO ORDER THE LOCAL POLICE BOARD
Chair Charles Erickson called the meeting to order at 9:33 a.m.

4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
The Board approved the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System - Local Police Board
Minutes of August 26, 2020

5. NEW BUSINESS
A. Board Secretary Jim Brown read the pertinent information and the Board reviewed the
Application for Enrollment into the Deferred Retirement Option Plan (D.R.O.P.) submitted by
Douglas M. Hunt, Police Sergeant. Douglas M. Hunt has 20.008 years of credited service. He
has elected to participate in the D.R.O.P. on October 17, 2020 and must terminate employment
with the City of Glendale Police Department on or before October 31, 2025.
The Board voted to approve the application.

B. Mr. Brown read the pertinent information and the Board reviewed the Application for Enrollment
into the Deferred Retirement Option Plan (D.R.O.P.) submitted by Charles C. McClung, Police
Officer. Charles C. McClung has 26.007 years of credited service. He elected to participate in
the D.R.O.P. on August 9, 2020 and must terminate employment with the City of Glendale
Police Department on or before August 31, 2025.
The Board voted to approve the application.

C. Mr. Brown read the pertinent information and the Board reviewed an Application for Retirement
from the Deferred Retirement Option Plan (D.R.O.P.) submitted by Matthew John Apodaca,
Police Lieutenant. Matthew John Apodaca has elected to retire from the D.R.O.P. and
terminated his employment with the Glendale Police Department on September 7, 2020. On
October 25, 2017, the Local Police Board had approved his Application for Enrollment into the
D.R.O.P. and he had elected to participate on September 30, 2017. He was required to
terminate his employment with the City of Glendale Police Department on or before
September 30, 2022. Matthew John Apodaca is eligible to retire from the D.R.O.P. and to
receive a Lump Sum distribution.
The Board voted to approve the application.

D. Mr. Brown read the pertinent information and the Board reviewed an Application for Retirement
from the Deferred Retirement Option Plan (D.R.O.P.) submitted by Richard Stringer, Police
Sergeant. Richard Stringer has elected to retire from the D.R.O.P. and terminated his
employment with the Glendale Police Department on September 24, 2020. On August 23,
2017, the Local Police Board had approved his Application for Enrollment into the D.R.O.P. and
he had elected to participate on July 28, 2017. He was required to terminate his employment
with the City of Glendale Police Department on or before July 31, 2022. Richard Stringer is
eligible to retire from the D.R.O.P. and to receive a Lump Sum distribution.
The Board voted to approve the application.

There were no Board comments or suggestions.
7. NEXT MEETING
The next regular meeting of the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Local Police Board
will be held on October 28, 2020 at 9:30 a.m., in the HR Training Room, located at 5850 W.
Glendale Ave., Glendale, Arizona, 85301.
8. ADJOURN THE LOCAL POLICE BOARD MEETING
Chair Erickson adjourned the meeting at 9:40 a.m.
The Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Local Police Board meeting minutes of September 23,
2020 were submitted and approved this 28th day of October 2020.
