CITY OF GLENDALE
WHEREAS, the St. Patrick’s Day celebration is upon us, when we all, whether of Irish
ancestry or not, embrace the resolute spirit and joyful nature of the Irish; and
WHEREAS, the annual Kiss Me I’m Irish Run celebrates Irish culture with a family-
friendly and healthy outdoor activity that showcases City of Glendale parks and
recreational facilities; and
WHEREAS, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and Kiss Me I’m Irish Run are
offering a Kilt Run on St. Patrick’s Day, Friday March 16, 2018 with the goal of
breaking the world record for the number of runners in kilts, further shining the spotlight
on the City of Glendale; and
WHEREAS, The City of Glendale is proud to recognize Kiss Me I’m Irish Run for
offering a unique St. Patrick’s Day celebration while helping to raise money for cancer.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jerry P. Weiers, Mayor of the City of Glendale, Arizona, on
behalf of the City Council do hereby proclaim Friday, March 16 & March 17, 2018 as
St. Patrick’s Day Weekend to Fight Cancer
in the City of Glendale and I strongly encourage all our citizens to recognize and participate to
support this worthy event.
