Have you unsuccessfully reached out to the city for funds to purchase the equipment? Yes.As Just one of many internal departments In a municipality attempting to achieve financial stability,we have had to operate wtth a limited,even decreased,budget over the last decade.We have been able to maintain a minimum amount of equipment and materials, but have been unable to secure adequate funding to take proactive steps to move the Department forward with large purchases like this. Was there a particular instance where a life would have been positively impacted if you would have had the equipment available? There is no specific Incident where the addition of these nozzles would have saved a life.Whet we can point to is the positive impact It will have on continuing,and future,efforts to save lives In hazardous situations. Directly, the addition of these nozzles will upgrade our ability to rapidly extinguish fires and thus save savable lives. Indirectly,the application of grant funds to purchase these nozzles will allow us to use our limited funds to buy fire hose What positive effects will the equipment specifically have?Please use statistics when possible. There are two direct ways this will positively affect our ability to provide for public safety.The current inventory of nozzles is both worn and outdated.
