GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85301 JANUARY 8, 2019 11:30 A.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER Councilmember Turner called the meeting to order at 11:31 a.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Joyce Clark, Councilmember Ian Hugh, Councilmember Bart Turner, Councilmember Also Present:Julie K. Bower, City Clerk 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES a. Government Services Committee Meeting Minutes of November 6, 2018 Motioned by Councilmember Joyce Clark, seconded by Councilmember Ian Hugh to approve the minutes of the November 6, 2018 Government Services Committee meeting. AYE: Councilmember Joyce Clark Councilmember Ian Hugh Councilmember Bail Turner Passed 5. RESIGNATIONS None 6. MOTION TO ENTER INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION Motioned by Councilmember Joyce Clark, seconded by Councilmember Ian Hugh to hold an executive session. AYE: Councilmember Joyce Clark Councilmember Ian Hugh Councilmember Bart Turner Passed 7. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Government Services Committee entered executive session at 11:03 a.m. to discuss consideration of appointments to the following boards and commissions and other bodies pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.03(A)(1). Motioned by Councilmember Joyce Clark, seconded by Councilmember Ian Hugh to adjourn the executive session. AYE: Councilmember Joyce Clark Councilmember Ian Hugh Councilmember Bart Turner Passed Councilmember Turner adjourned the executive session at 11:55 a.m. 8. NEW BUSINESS 1. Board and Commission Member Satisfaction Survey Councilmember Turner suggested establishing a board and commission member satisfaction survey. There was a consensus to have Councilmember Turner and Councilmember Clark develop a draft survey. 2. Board and Commission Member Appreciation Dinner Ms. Bower provided information on the costs for catering, recognition pins and gifts for the appreciation dinner. The consensus was to hold the dinner on a Thursday night at Sahuaro Ranch Park. Catering would be provided by Shane's Rib Shack. Ms. Bower was directed to order pins for current members, gifts for next year's dinner and to get information on challenge coins. 3. Citizen Bicycle Advisory Committee Name Change Ms. Bower had been informed by the staff liaison to the Citizens Bicycle Advisory Committee that the Committee had pursued a name change. Its new name would be the "Citizens Active Transportation Advisory Committee (CATAC)." The name better reflected its recently adopted mission statement. The Committee had been advised by the City Attorney's Office that the change would have to be approved by the Citizens Tranportation Oversight Committee (CTOC). CTOC approved the change at its December meeting. 9. NEXT MEETING The next regular meeting of the Government Services Committee will be held on February 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., in the Council Conference Room of City Hall, located at 5850 W. Glendale Ave, Glendale, Arizona, 85301. 10. ADJOURNMENT Motioned by Councilmember Joyce Clark, seconded by Councilmember Ian Hugh to adjourn the meeting.
