Marie discussed the details of a letter received
from William Dickerson from O'Brien's Emporium,
concerning the George Lundeen "Old Friends". Mr.
Dickerson, who was present at the Commission
meeting, reinstated the details of the letter.
They are, a $10,000. downpayment is needed, a 100
discount will be given off the original. price, and
the downpayment will guarantee that price. Mr.
Dickerson was made aware that the City Council must
approve the purchase and the council will riot meet
until. March 4. Mr. Dickerson said he could hold
the price of the sculpture until that time. "Old
Friends" has 25 in the edition, ten of the
twenty-five have been sold to date.
"Old Friends" is $36,000.00
10% discount 3,600.00
$32,400.00
Sales tax 6.5%
Total price 34,506.00

due on delivery.
"Old Friends" is 8' high and weights approximately
700 pounds. The sculpture is multi -finished bronze
that weathers well. The commission could request
the bronze be treated with a retardant and the
colors will stay as it looks in the photography or
the bronze could be left natural which would turn
to a green patina.
George Lundeen lives in Loveland, Colorado, he is
originally from Nebraska. Currently Mr. Lundeen is
working on portrait commissions of the senators.
Mr. Dickerson felt George Lundeen would be very
interested in coming to Glendale for the unveiling
of the sculpture.
A motion was made to purchase George W. Lundeen's
"Old Friends" under the conditions of receiving a
10% discount and the prices discussed. The motion
was seconded and passed unanimously. The municipal
art plan for the George Lundeen sculpture will be
brought before the City Council, on March 4.

a 5 1/21 x 12 1/21 the price is $16,000, and for
two 51 x 8' the price is $22,000. A motion was
made by Nelda to commission an Ed Mell painting.

The size dimensions for the painting are to be 5
1/21 x 12 1/21 and the price is not to exceed
$17,000. The motion was seconded by Bob and it
passed unanimously.

stating the future site of the "Irrigators" be
placed on the site. Debbie Gessner will. not be
