CITY OF GLENDALE CITIZEN BICYCLE ADVISORY COMN/IITTEE MONDAY, FEBRUARY l, 2016 - 6:30 PM Besement Mccting Room Hi, City Hdl 5850 West Glendde Avenue, Glendele, Arlzonr 85301 MINUTES CALLTOORDER Chair Hildebrant called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Also in attendance: Anthony Pratcher, Chris Fundis, Gus Woodman, John Horvath, Larry Ftatau, Mike Wood, and City Staff- Andy Lynes, Sandy Adams, and Purab Adabala. Members absent: None APPROVAL OF MINUTES John Horvath made a motion to approve minutes from the January 4,2016 meeting and Mike Wood seconded the motion. Minutes from the January 4, 2016 meeting were approved unanimously (7-0). CALLTO THE PUBLIC Aron Frank, a Glendale resident and an avid bicyclist was present as a member of public at this meeting. Mr. Frank made a request of the City to look into striping bike lanes on roadways in weslern Glendale. Roadways under discussion were identified as Zanjero Boulevard and Cabela Drive. CONTINUAI{CE OR WITHDRAWAL OF AGENDA ITEMS There were no changes to the agenda ofthis meeting. INTRODUCTIONS All members, staff, and guests introduced themselves. REPORTS FROM OTHER COMMITTEES AND ORGANIZATIONS Gail Hildebrant mentioned that the Coalition of Arizona Bicyclists is hosting Arizona Bicycling Summit 2016 in Mesa, AZ on April 1,2016. Purab Adabala provided information regarding a kague of American Bicyclists representative visiting Glendale as a preferred city to review the Glendale bicycling infrastructure and amenities. Mr. Adabala also mentioned that Glendale secured additional federal close-out funds towards design of federally funded construction projects r€cently approved through MAG funding process. Mr. Adabala identified that this is the las meeting for Mike Wood and thanked him for his dedicated service to the City of Glendale through participation in the Cilizen Bicycle Advisory Comminee efforts. 2016 GLENDALE FAMILY BIKE RIDE-(IO MINUTES) Sandra Adams provided information pertaining to the April 10, 2015 scheduled Glendale Family Bike Ride event. Ms. Adams mentioned that the ride will have three different routes i.e. short, long, and extended based on route lengh. Ms. Adams said that there were multiple volunteer opportunities available. Ms. Adams stated that there would be three manned rest stops instead of the two rest stops in the past. wEsT PHOENDVCENTRAL GLENDALE TRANSTT CORRIDOR STUDY - (45 MTNUTES) ry. v. vI. uI. vtIl. Jennifer Pyne and Megan Casey provided information pertaining to West Phoenix/Central Glendale Transit Conidor Study. Ms. Pyne provided study project information including background, schedule, goals, process, altematives, evaluation, analysis and recommendations. Ms. Casey provided information relating to the public input process including activities of the project specific community working group that was established. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS No items were requested to be included in future agendas at this meeting. OTHERBUSINESS No other discussion happened at this meeting. NEXTMEETING Chair Hildebrant said that the next meeting of the Glendale Citizen Bicycle Advisory Committee will be on Monday March 7, 2016 6:30 p.m., at the Basement Meeting Room 83, City Hall, 5850 West Glendale Avenue, Glendale, Arizona 85301.
