Glendale Ave. Glendale, AZ MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Jerry Weiers, Board Member, Chair Charles Erickson, Citizen Board Member& Acting Chair Capt. Joe Hester, Board Member Capt. Mark Manor, Board Member STAFF PRESENT: Jim Brown, Director Human Resources and Board Secretary David Jensen, Deputy Fire Chief Marcia Zientek, Human Resources Support Staff Call to Order Charles Erickson, Acting Chair, called to order the Local Fire Board meeting at 9:00 a.m. Review and Approval of the January 28, 2015 Local Fire Board Meeting Minutes The minutes of the January 28, 2015 Local Fire Board meeting were reviewed. Mayor Jerry Weiers moved to accept the minutes as presented. Capt. Mark Manor seconded the motion. The Board voted and passed the motion unanimously. Review and Approval of Application for Enrollment into the Deferred Retirement Option Plan ("D.R.O.P.")—Suzanne Dobbs The Local Fire Board reviewed Suzanne Dobbs' D.R.O.P. Enrollment Application. Suzanne Dobbs, Fire Fighter, has 20.740 years of credited service. She has elected to participate in the D.R.O.P. on March 31, 2015. She must terminate employment with the City of Glendale Fire Department on or before March 31, 2020. Suzanne Dobbs has been a member of the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System since July 5, 1994. The action requested of the Board is to approve the Application for Enrollment in D.R.O.P. Retirement submitted by Suzanne Dobbs, Fire Fighter. Capt. Mark Manor motioned to approve the D.R.O.P. Enrollment Application submitted by Suzanne Dobbs, Fire Fighter. Capt. Joe Hester seconded the motion. The Board voted and passed the motion unanimously. Page 1 of 2 PSPRS Local Fire Board Meeting Minutes 4/22/15 Review and Approval of Application for Retirement from the Deferred Retirement Option Plan ("D.R.O.P.")—Mark S. Burdick The Local Fire Board reviewed Mark S. Burdick's D.R.O.P. retirement application. Mark S. Burdick, Fire Chief, has elected to retire from the D.R.O.P. and will terminate his employment with the Glendale Fire Department on May 28, 2015. On June 23, 2010, the Local Fire Board had approved Mark S. Burdick into the D.R.O.P. At that time, he had completed 27.370 years of credited service. He was required to terminate employment with the City of Glendale Fire Department on or before May 28, 2015. Mark S. Burdick is eligible to retire from the D.R.O.P. and to receive a Lump Sum distribution. He will begin receiving his normal retirement pension on or about June 30, 2015. The action requested of the Board is to approve the Application for Retirement from the D.R.O.P. submitted by Mark S. Burdick, Fire Chief. Capt. Mark Manor motioned to approve the D.R.O.P. Retirement Application submitted by Mark S. Burdick, Fire Chief Mayor Jerry Weiers seconded the motion. The Board voted and passed the motion unanimously. New Business Capt. Mark Manor asked Jim Brown, Human Resources Director and PSPRS Secretary if he would explain how a Public Records Request (PRR) is handled regarding one that might be submitted asking for information on a member of PSPRS. Capt. Joe Hester additionally stated that a member was concerned about account numbers being released in a PRR. Mr. Brown explained that all PRRs are sent to the City Attorney's Office for review and redaction before any documents are released to the person or persons requesting the information. He also stated all medical, account numbers, or any other information deemed personal and protected is always redacted. Mayor Jerry Weiers reiterated that only the very basic information such as name, position, date of service would be the only information to ever go out in response to a PRR. Adjournment Charles Erickson, Acting Chair, asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Capt. Mark Manor moved to adjourn the PSPRS Fire Board meeting. Capt. Joe Hester seconded the motion.
