Glendale Ave. Glendale, AZ MEMBERS PRESENT: City Manager Brenda S. Fischer, Board Member Charles Erickson, Citizen Board Member and Acting Chair Police Officer Justin Harris, Board Member STAFF PRESENT: Jim Brown, Director Human Resources and Board Secretary Nancy Mangone, Assistant City Attorney Adam Beghtol, Police Technical Services Manager Vicki Moss, HR Administrator, Benefits Marcia Zientek, Human Resources Support Staff MEMBERS ABSENT: Mayor Jerry Weiers, Board Member and Chair Police Officer Cody Carmichael, Board Member OTHER ATTENDEES: Buddy Loomis, Special Agent, Attorney General's Office Lauren Buhrow, Special Agent, Attorney General's Office Paula Daniels, Project Coord., Exec. Assistant, Attorney General's Office Call to Order Charles Erickson, Acting Chair, called to order the Local Police Board meeting at 9:07 a.m. Review and Approval of the November 19, 2014 Local Police Board Meeting Minutes The minutes of the November 19, 2014 Local Police Board meeting were reviewed. City Manager Brenda S. Fischer moved to accept the Minutes as presented. Officer Justin Harris seconded the motion. The Board voted and passed the motion unanimously. Distribution of the June 30, 2014 Annual Actuarial Valuation of Members for Glendale Police Covered By the PSPRS Charles Erickson, Acting Chair, acknowledged that the Board members received, in their board books, a copy of the June 30, 2014 Annual Actuarial Valuation Report of Glendale Police covered by the PSPRS. The purpose of the valuation is to measure the funding progress of the plan and to establish contribution rates for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2015. There was no discussion. 1 Local Police Board Meeting 1/28/15 Review and Approval of Application for Normal Retirement—Jack W. Landon The Local Police Board reviewed Jack W. Landon's Application for Normal Retirement. Jack W. Landon, Police Officer, has completed 24.468 years of credited service. He is scheduled to retire on February 27, 2015. He has been a member of the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) since September 10, 1990. The action requested of the Board is to approve the Normal Retirement Application for Jack W. Landon, Police Officer. Officer Justin Harris made a motion to approve the Application for Normal Retirement submitted by Jack W. Landon, Police Officer. City Manager Brenda S. Fischer seconded the motion. The Board voted and passed the motion unanimously. Review and Approval of Application for Normal Retirement—Timothy Daniel Reardon The Local Police Board reviewed Timothy Daniel Reardon's Application for Normal Retirement. Timothy Daniel Reardon, Police Officer, has completed 26.741 years of credited service. He is scheduled to retire on January 30, 2015. He has been a member of the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) since August 24, 1996. The action requested of the Board is to approve the Normal Retirement Application for Timothy Daniel Reardon, Police Officer. Officer Justin Harris made a motion to approve the Application for Normal Retirement submitted by Timothy Daniel Reardon, Police Officer. City Manager Brenda S. Fischer seconded the motion. The Board voted and passed the motion unanimously. Review and Approval of Application for Enrollment into the Deferred Retirement Option Plan ("D.R.O.P.")—Brandon Keefer The Local Police Board reviewed Brandon Keefer's D.R.O.P. Enrollment Application. Brandon Keefer, Police Officer, has 20.079 years of credited service. He elected to participate in the D.R.O.P. on January 2, 2015. He chose to participate in the D.R.O.P. for a period of sixty (60) months. He must terminate employment with the City of Glendale Police Department on or before January 2, 2020. He has been member of the Glendale Police Department since December 5, 1994. The action requested of the Board is to approve the Application for Enrollment into D.R.O.P. Retirement submitted by Brandon Keefer. Officer Justin Harris moved to approve the D.R.O.P. Enrollment Application submitted by Brandon Keefer, Police Officer. City Manager Brenda S. Fischer seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Review and Approval of Application for Survivor's Benefits from the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System ("PSPRS")—Veronica Steele The Local Police Board reviewed the Application for Survivor's Benefits for Veronica Steele, the widow of Retired Police Officer Jeffrey Steele, deceased. Jeffrey Steele passed away on December 31, 2014. Officer Justin Harris moved to approve the Survivor's Benefits Application submitted by Veronica Steele. City Manager Brenda S. Fischer seconded the motion. The Board voted and passed the motion unanimously. 2 Local Police Board Meeting 1/28/15 New Business There was no new business. Adjournment Charles Erickson, Acting Chair, asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. City Manager Brenda S. Fischer made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Officer Justin Harris seconded the motion.
