Glendale Ave. Glendale, AZ MEMBERS PRESENT: Larry Clark, Citizen Board Member and Acting Chair Acting City Manager Horatio Skeete Det. Brandon Keefer, Board Member STAFF PRESENT: Jim Brown, Interim Human Resources Director and Board Secretary Nick DiPiazza, Chief Deputy City Attorney Marcia Zientek, Human Resources Support Staff MEMBERS ABSENT: Mayor Elaine Scruggs, Chair Lt. John Wolfe, Board Member Call to Order Larry Clark, Acting Chair, called to order the Local Police Board meeting at 9:02 a.m.. Review and Approval of the September 26,2012 Local Police Board Meeting Minutes The minutes of the September 26, 2012 Local Police Board meeting were reviewed. Det. Brandon Keefer moved to accept the minutes as presented. Larry Clark seconded the motion. The Board voted and passed the motion unanimously. Review and Approval of Application for Normal Retirement—Joseph A. Turitto,Jr. The Local Police Board reviewed Joseph A. Turitto, Jr.'s Application for Normal Retirement. Joseph A. Turitto, Jr., Police Sergeant,has completed 20.055 years of credited service. He is scheduled to retire from the Glendale Police Department on November 23, 2012. He has been a member of the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System since July 5, 1994. The action requested of the Board is to approve the Normal Retirement Application for Joseph A. Turitto, Jr. Det. Brandon Keefer made a motion to approve the Application for Normal Retirement submitted by Joseph A. Turitto, Jr., Police Sergeant. Acting City Manager Horatio Skeete seconded the motion. The Board voted and passed the motion unanimously. Page 1 of 2 PSPRS Local Police Board Meeting Minutes 11/14/12 Review and Approval of Application for Retirement from the Deferred Retirement Option Plan ("D.R.O.P.")—James M.LaBovick The Local Police Board reviewed James M. LaBovick's D.R.O.P. retirement application. James M. LaBovick has elected to retire from the D.R.O.P. and terminate his employment with the Glendale Police Department on December 29, 2012. One June 25, 2008, the Local Police Board had approved James M. LaBovick into the D.R.O.P. At that time, he had completed 27.044 years of credited service. He was required to terminate employment with the City of Glendale Police Department on or before May 23, 2013. James M. LaBovick is eligible to retire from the D.R.O.P. and to receive a Lump Sum Distribution. He will begin receiving his normal retirement pension on or about January 31, 2013. The action requested of the Board is to approve the application for retirement from D.R.O.P. and Lump Sum distribution for James M. LaBovick, Police Officer. Acting City Manager Horatio Skeete moved to approve the D.R.O.P. retirement application submitted by James M. LaBovick, Police Officer. Det. Brandon Keefer seconded the motion. The Board voted and passed the motion unanimously. Review and Approval of Application for Enrollment into the Deferred Retirement Option Plan ("D.R.O.P.")—Stephen E. Perry The Local Police Board reviewed Stephen E. Perry's D.R.O.P. Enrollment Application. Stephen E. Perry, Police Officer, has 25.117 years of credited service. He has elected to participate in the D.R.O.P. on November 2, 2012 for a period of sixty (60) months. He must terminate employment with the City of Glendale Police Department on or before November 2, 2017. Stephen E. Perry has been a member of the Glendale Police Department since September 21, 1987. The action requested of the Board is to approve the Application for Enrollment in D.R.O.P. Retirement submitted by Stephen E. Perry,Police Officer. Det. Brandon Keefer moved to approve the D.R.O.P. Enrollment Application submitted by Stephen E. Perry, Police Officer. Acting City Manager Horatio Skeete seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. New Business There was no new business. Adjournment Larry Clark, Acting Chair, asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Det. Brandon Keefer made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Acting City Manager Horatio Skeete seconded the motion.
