that staff was considering a number of firms for the future audit of the GO Program. She also stated that
Transportation staff person Purab Adabala, despite his youth, was a"genius"at tracking and unraveling the intricacies
of the GO Program budget.
VII. GLENDALE FAMILY BIKE RIDE
Steve Hancock displayed a layout of the start and finish of the ride at Sahauro Ranch Park's main soccer field. He
noted the changes from last year to improve the flow during registration and the start of the ride. He said that Bashas'
Markets would be exchanging t-shirts for used plastic grocery bags but the t-shirts would be provided by Valley Metro
and with a generic safety message and no City of Glendale references or logos. Steve also said that there will be
police traffic control at the ten arterial streets that intersect with the bike ride routes. John Horvath,Betsy Turner and
Fred Coury said that they would be helping out at the ride this year. Steve told them that all volunteers would need to
be at Sahuaro Ranch Park at 5:00 am this year so there would be sufficient time to set up the tents and tables and be
ready for the first registrants at 7:00 am. John Horvath handed Steve a brochure from the New York City Five
Boroughs Ride. John said that only riders under the age of 14 had to have an adult sign a waiver on their behalf—
unlike the City of Glendale that required all riders under the age of 18 to have an adult sign a waiver.
