APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Item tabled until the next meeting. III. BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR None. V. AIRPORT BUSINESS 1. Plaque Acknowledgment Chair Dietzman presented Mr. Marcio Moreno a plaque in recognition of Mr. Moreno's dedicated service on the Aviation Advisory Commission from 2006- 2010. Chair Dietzman thanked Mr. Moreno for his participation on the Aviation Advisory Commission and wished him well in future endeavors. 2. Rules and Regulations Sub-Committee Update Commissioner Cohoe stated that there was no report at this time as further review and comments are pending. 3. Security Sub-Committee Update Item tabled until next meeting. 4. Annual Retreat Sub-Committee Update Commissioner Kelly updated the Commissioners on details regarding the Annual Retreat scheduled for May 8, 2010. Highlights included the following: • The Annual Retreat will be held at the Glendale Municipal Airport from 9 AM to 1 PM. • Speakers for the event include Ms. Michelle Wilson, Environmental Program Manager with the City of Glendale Environmental Resources Department, Ms. Susan Baldwin and Ms. Molly Crawford, TSA Inspectors, and Mr. Steve Yamamori, Executive Director and CEO of F35 Fighter Country Partnership. • Chair Dietzman will provide welcoming remarks, and then the speakers will be heard followed by lunch. • The Retreat will take the place of the regular monthly meeting. Commissioner Cohoe stated that he was unable to attend the retreat as he will be out of town. VI. STAFF REPORTS/UPDATE 1. Bylaws: Ms. Skeen stated that the Bylaws are scheduled to go before Mayor and Council at the Council meeting on April 27, 2010. 2. Operations: Mr. Mike Allen reported that operations are moving smoothly, however a bit behind last year's figures. Mr. Allen hoped to reach over 100,000 flights this year, including over flights. Mr. Allen reported that last year's figure was 108,502 including over flights. Mr. Allen stated that it will take a few years to get back up to 150,000. 3. CIP Project: Ms. Skeen stated that the budget process is currently moving forward and CIP projects are on hold until the process is completed. Ms. Skeen will be working with the FAA on future grant projects. VII. NEW BUSINESS Item tabled until next month's meeting. VIII. NEXT MEETING The next meeting will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, May 8, 2010. It will be held on the second floor Conference Room of the airport terminal building located at the Glendale Municipal Airport, 6801 N. Glen Harbor Blvd., Glendale, AZ. IX. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned by consensus at 7:18 PM. The Aviation Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes of April 14, 2010 were approved -the Commission eeting of May 8, 2010.
