CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA.
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON OCTOBER 29, 2001
3:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Elaine M. Scruggs, with Vice Mayor
Thomas R. Eggleston and the following Councilmembers present: Joyce V. Clark,
Steven E. Frate, David M. Goulet, H. Philip Lieberman, and Manuel D. Martinez.
Also present were Ed Beasley, Assistant City Manager; and Craig Tindall, Acting
City Attorney.
1. CALL FOR VOTE TO ENTER INTO AN EXECUTIVE SESSION
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Scruggs. Mayor Scruggs noted that
the agendas for the October 29, 2001 Special City Council Meeting and Executive
Session and the October 30, 2001 Executive Session had been posted more than 24
hours in advance.
It was moved by Eggleston, and seconded by Frate, to enter into an
Executive Session immediately following this Special City Council meeting and to
enter into an Executive Session at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2001, with
both Executive Sessions to be held in Room B-3 of the City Council Chambers.
The purpose of both of these Executive Sessions is for the City Council to receive
legal advice and provide direction to the City Attorney regarding negotiations
with the Ellman Group and the Coyotes for the arena and Manistee Town Center
Development Agreements. (A.R.S. §38-431.03 A.3 & A.4) The motion carried
unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 3:05 p.m.
