HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - Minutes - City Council - Meeting Date: 7/24/2001 (3) MINUTES CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON JULY 24, 2001 4:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Elaine M. Scruggs, with Vice Mayor Thomas R. Eggleston and the following Councilmembers present: Joyce V. Clark, Steven E. Frate, and David M. Goulet. Councilmembers H. Philip Lieberman and Manuel D. Martinez were absent. Also present were Martin Vanacour, City Manager; Ed Beasley, Assistant City Manager; Rick Flaaen, City Attorney; and Pamela Oliveira, City Clerk. CALL FOR VOTE TO ENTER INTO AN EXECUTIVE SESSION The meeting was called to order by Mayor Scruggs at 4:00 p.m. Mayor Scruggs noted that the agenda for the July 24, 2001 Special City Council Meeting and Executive Session had been posted more than 24 hours in advance. It was moved by Eggleston, and seconded by Frate, to enter into an Executive Session in Room B-3 of the City Council Chambers, immediately following the adjournment of this Special City Council meeting. The purpose of this Executive Session was for the City Council to receive legal advice from the City Attorney and City Staff regarding negotiations for a purchase agreement and pre-annexation agreement with the Hickman Family (A.R.S. §38-431.03 A.3 & A.7); for City Council discussion and consultation with the City Attorney and City Staff regarding the development agreement with the Ryan Companies U.S. (A.R.S. §38- 431.03 A.3); and for the City Council to receive legal advice from the City Attorney regarding election procedures (A.R.S. §38-431.03 A.3).
