HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - Minutes - Housing Advisory Commission - Meeting Date: 4/24/1995 y MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA HELD MONDAY, APRIL 24, 1995 AT 5:30 P.M. Call To Order The meeting was called to order at 5:31 p.m. by Chairperson Tomlin. Present were Commissioners Tomlin, Horton, Pine, and Potocki. Vice-Chairperson Helka was absent. There was a quorum. Reading of the Minutes Motion by Horton, seconded by Potocki, that reading of the minutes be dispensed with since each commissioner had received a copy before the meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Presentation On The City Of Glendale Consolidated Plan Gloria Santiago, Manager, Neighborhood Revitalization Department, gave a brief presentation on the City of Glendale Consolidated Plan. The summary included the goals, objectives, and strategies of the City which encompassed all areas, not just the housing needs. The Commission asked if the people involved in criminal activity were eligible for assistance under this program. Ms. Santiago will check to obtain clarifica- tion of this potential restriction. Items of clarification will be provided to staff and a memo relaying the information will be sent to each commissioner. City Budget Staff presented the proposed budget requests covering operating program expenses for the 1995/96 fiscal year. Motion by Horton, seconded by Potocki, to recommend approval to Mayor and Council. Motion carried unanimously. CTAP Application An application for Comprehensive Improvement Assistance Program(CTAP)funds was presented by staff. The majority of the amount being requested is for items that were reprogrammed in order to provide adequate fundingfor a contract for modernization and lead-based paint abatement for which the budgeted funds were inadequate due to inflated market conditions. The current market conditions are reflected in the current request. Motion by Potocki, seconded by Horton, to recommend approval to Mayor and Council. Motion carried unanimously. Drug Elimination Grant An application for the continuation of a Public Housing Drug Elimination Program r- (PHDEP) grant was presented by staff. This grantwould be a continuation of a PHDEP that is currently being administered. Motion by Pine, seconded by Potocki, to (SECTARYMSGADVIS.COMMAC495.MTG) 1 recommend approval to Mayor and Council. Motion carried unanimously. Expenditure/Revenue Report 1 The revenue and expenditure report was reviewed and discussed. No action was required. Monthly Activity Report The monthly activity report was reviewed and discussed. No action was required.
