ORDINANCE NO. 2928 NEW SERIES
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, EXTENDING
AND INCREASING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY
OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, STATE OF
ARIZONA, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE 9,
CHAPTER 4, SECTION 9-471, ARIZONA REVISED
STATUTES AND AMENDMENTS THERETO, BY ANNEXING
THERETO CERTAIN TERRITORY LOCATED WITHIN AN
EXISTING COUNTY ISLAND OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE
CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 180 ACRES AT THE
NORTHEAST CORNER OF CITRUS ROAD AND OLIVE
AVENUE TO BE KNOWN AS ANNEXATION AREA NO. 197.
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale on September 18, 2014 filed in the Maricopa County
Recorder's Office a blank petition requesting annexation and setting forth a description and an
accurate map of all the exterior boundaries of the territory located within an existing county
island of the City to be annexed;
WHEREAS, after filing the blank petition, the City of Glendale held a public hearing on
October 14, 2014 to discuss the annexation proposal. The public hearing was held in accordance
with applicable state law;
WHEREAS, signatures on petitions filed for annexation were not obtained for a waiting
period of thirty(30) days after the filing of the blank petition;
WHEREAS, within one year after the last day of the thirty (30) day waiting period, a
petition in writing was circulated and signed by the owners of one-half or more in value of the
real and personal property and more than one-half of the persons owning real and personal
property that would be subject to taxation by the City of Glendale in the event of annexation, as
shown by the last assessment of the property, and filed in the office of the Maricopa County
Recorder's Office on January 9, 2015;
WHEREAS, no alterations increasing or reducing the territory sought to be annexed were
made after the petition had been signed by a property owner;
WHEREAS, all information contained in the filings, the notices, the petition, tax and
property rolls and other matters regarding a proposed or final annexation were made available by
the Clerk of the City of Glendale for public inspection during regular business hours;
WHEREAS, a zoning classification which permits densities and uses no greaterthan
those permitted by the county immediately prior to annexation will be applied by the City of
Glendale to the annexation area; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the City of Glendale, Arizona are desirous of
complying with said petitions and extending and increasing the corporate limits of the City of
Glendale to include said territory.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory be, and the same hereby is, annexed
to the City of Glendale, and that the present corporate limits be extended and increased to include
the following described territory contiguous to the present City limits of Glendale, to wit:
(See Exhibit"A" attached hereto
and incorporated herein by this reference.)
SECTION 2. That the City of Glendale zoning classification of R1-10 (Single
Residence) is applied to the territory described in Exhibit "A" in accordance with Arizona
Revised Statutes Sec. 9-471(L) and that the effective date of this classification shall be the same
as the effective date of this annexation ordinance.
SECTION 3. That a copy of this ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory
hereby annexed to the City of Glendale, certified by the Mayor and Council of said City, be
forthwith filed and recorded in the office of the Maricopa County Recorder of Maricopa County,
Arizona and that a copy of ordinance be provi.-: to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of
Maricopa County, Arizona.

That property known as "Zanjero Pass Parcel 1-3 Phase 2-4" as shown in Book 979, Page 26 of
Official Records of Maricopa County, Arizona, being located in the West Half of Section 26,
Township 3 North, Range 2 West of the Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian, Maricopa
County, Arizona, further described as follows:
Beginning at an Iron Pipe accepted as the Southwest Corner of said section 26 from which a
Rebar accepted as the South Quarter corner of said section bears South 89 degrees 59 minutes 27
seconds East, 2639.08 feet;
Thence North 00 degrees 23 minutes 32 seconds East, 2632.93 feet along the west line of said
final plat and said west half of section 26 to an Aluminum Cap accepted as the West Quarter
corner of said section;
Thence continuing along said west lines North 00 degrees 23 minutes 32 seconds East 989.02
feet to the northwest corner of said plat for Zanjero Pass;
Thence along the north line of said plat North 89 degrees 59 minutes 57 seconds East, 2642.94
feet to the northeast corner thereof;
Thence South 00 degrees 27 minutes 16 seconds West, 2306.50 feet along the east line of said
plat also being the east line of said west half section 26;
Thence North 89 degrees 58 minutes 45 seconds West, 1320.26 feet along a portion of said final
plat boundary;
Thence South 00 degrees 25 minutes 24 seconds West, 1316.97 feet along a portion of said final
plat boundary to a point on the south line of said section 26;
Thence North 89 degrees 57 minutes 27 seconds West, 1319.54 feet along said south line also
being the south line of said final plat to the Point of Beginning.
